God is not one sided

I do not know how it was before but in today's time, most of the church is taught only the blessings of God without the discipline. They are not taught the ways of God. God is not one sided. The gospel has four sides, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The angel in Ezekiel had four faces.

We know God is Love. But the bible says God is also a very jealous God and we do not want to rouse that jealousy.

When constructing a building, we need to know how to build a foundation. Then we need to know how to build the frame, pipes, walls, roofing and etc. There is a lot of hard work and time that is involved. If we are a builder and we are only concerned of the surface beauty then we may never be able to start and finish the building. Before we can decide on the beautiful paint, pictures, furnitures, etc we need to have spent the energy and time building the fundamentals of the house. We cannot just sit all day and day dream about how the house will look with the furniture that we have chosen. And we cannot get jealous and envious because someone else had spent the time to do it the right way and had finished their houses.

To understand the blessings of God, we must also understand the discipline or judgments of God. If we do not know His ways, we will never get to the next stage or level.

Hosea 4:6 (NLT) My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me.
Since you priests refuse to know me, I refuse to recognize you as my priests.
Since you have forgotten the laws of your God, I will forget to bless your children.

The discipline or judgments of God may be the start of our foundation to build upon a solid Rock. His discipline will teach us submission, humility, and obedience. It prevents us from trying to build our own homes using straw. But sadly many are so stubborn to do it their own way. He is the great architect but yet many want to be their own bosses.

We can walk this life thinking we have walked pleasing Him because we have experienced His power but still may not have pleased Him. As we walk, are we pleasing Him or are we trying to make Him do our bidding?

1 Corinthians 10:1-5 "I don’t want you to forget, dear brothers and sisters, about our ancestors in the wilderness long ago. All of them were guided by a cloud that moved ahead of them, and all of them walked through the sea on dry ground. In the cloud and in the sea, all of them were baptized as followers of Moses. All of them ate the same spiritual food, and all of them drank the same spiritual water. For they drank from the spiritual rock that traveled with them, and that rock was Christ. Yet God was not pleased with most of them, and their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.”

We must learn from past mistakes so we do not make the same mistake again.
