If you continue in your sins or if you fall back into sin, you subject yourself back under the Law. If sin has dominion over you, then you will be under the Law as slaves of sin! If you are under Grace, sin should be losing its have dominion over you as you are being set free moving from Glory to Glory.
Yes, many things do not come over night but Grace is there for us to get things right with God. Grace gives us time and strength to walk in holiness/obedience and to get us out of sin. Grace does not allow us to mingle nor fellowship with the world or darkness. Grace through the Power of God gives us the ability to endure, persevere, exhibit patience and gentleness in the midst of suffering, chaos, or persecution to restore broken fellowship, peace, and our relationships with people or even with God.
Please understand the significance of this verse.
Romans 6:14(AMP) For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you, since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of God's favor and mercy].
If some of you are struggling with addictions. bondage, chaos, unforgiveness, bitterness, and/or any SIN, then call out to Jesus (Grace) and cry out to HIM in repentance for help. Do not deceive yourselves thinking Grace allows you to continue in SIN or Bondage. Grace is there to help you overcome SIN so you may bear FRUIT LEADING TO SANCTIFICATION WHICH ITS END IS ETERNAL LIFE. Otherwise, the FRUIT OF SIN IS DEATH.
Romans 6:12-13 Let not sin therefore rule as king in your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies, to make you yield to its cravings and be subject to its lusts and evil passions. 13 Do not continue offering or yielding your bodily members [and [a]faculties] to sin as instruments (tools) of wickedness. But offer and yield yourselves to God as though you have been raised from the dead to [perpetual] life, and your bodily members [and [b]faculties] to God, presenting them as implements of righteousness.
It is very easy for a Christian to fall back into sin. It is very easy to observe tangible sins such as someone getting back into drugs, drinking, stealing, partying, fornicating, gossiping, etc. But what about the intangible ones in which we cannot always see such as bitterness, hate, resentment, disobedience, etc?
Scripture says unless you forgive, God cannot forgive you. If you been hurt during your Christian walk, you must let it go and forgive to be set free of that bondage. Otherwise, do you really think you can enter Heaven with unforgiveness in your heart? WILL GRACE SUPERSEDE GOD'S OWN WORD?
John 20:23 [Now having received the Holy Spirit, and being [a]led and directed by Him] if you forgive the sins of anyone, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of anyone, they are retained.
Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive people their trespasses [their [a]reckless and willful sins, [b]leaving them, letting them go, and [c]giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you.15 But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their [d]reckless and willful sins, [e]leaving them, letting them go, and [f]giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses.
Telling someone you have forgiven them but giving the condition that you never want to see their face again is not a biblical definition of forgiving. You must forgive as the Lord forgave. He forgave us with the cost of His life. The price to forgive is your life. You must put down all of yourself no longer being the center of anything. Let Him increase and you decrease!
When you truly forgive from the heart, it is you who you are setting free. Holding on to intangible sins such as unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, hurt, hate, etc will affect all your future relationships with your spouses, children, and other people as those things will be the root of one's insecurity. Transparency will be required to enter the Kingdom of God.
Let our believing, faith, love, and forgiving all move from our heads to our heart. Let His Truth truly set you FREE.
