“My God will reject the people of Israel because they will not listen or obey. They will be wanderers, homeless among the nations.”
Hosea 9:17 NLT
There are wandering spirits lurking in many Christians. The root head demons are disobedience and pride.
There are many reasons why teenagers run away from home. But one reason is that they do not want to submit to their parents. They want to do their own thing. They don't get their own way and as a result many run away. But at the end for many, they end up wandering the streets.
Today, this is occurring for many Christians as they end up spiritually wandering. They wander because of disobedience and not listening to God. They want it their way.
People wander to look for answers. They are looking for their own answers and their own
way. Pride may prevent runaway teenagers from going back home and submitting to their parents. They rather suffer than submit and yield. Many would rather die.
Christians are no different. Many act like rebellious teenagers. They think they know it all. Even when rebellious teenagers return to their parents, many still think they are in the right. It is really a matter of wanting one's way.
But to even think we know something is pride. We must realize that if we even know anything, it is from Him and for His glory.
“If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know.”
1 Corinthians 8:2 ESV
We must realize our nature and character. Am I a person that yields or am I stubborn? If I am a person unwilling to yield, then we can be a person willing to jump from place to place and become a wanderer because we are so stubborn in wanting it our way. This is not the character of heaven bound.
“But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.” “And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.”
James 3:17 -18 NLT
The wisdom from above is willing to yield to others. Wisdom from above is willing to wait. Wisdom from above is open hearted, willing to be corrected, willing to learn, willing to change, willing to admit mistakes, and desires truth above their need to be proven right or wrong.
Wanderers are selfish and full of self ambition. Selfish ambitious people have a hard time obeying and listening. They are self centered people. They don't like so they go. But this is not wisdom from heaven. This is earthly wisdom.
“For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.”
James 3:15-16 NLT
Sadly, many Christians are spiritually homeless living without peace or rest. are restless and full of anxiety just as real homeless people.
