Faith like a mustard seed and like a small stone - Yoojin Kim

1 Samuel 49, 50 (AMP) "David put his hand into his bag and took out a stone and slung it, and it struck the Philistine, sinking into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. 50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and struck down the Philistine and slew him. But no sword was in David’s hand."

1 King 18:22,37,38 "Then Elijah said to the people, I, I only, remain a prophet of the Lord, but Baal’s prophets are 450 men."  38 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You, the Lord, are God, and have turned their hearts back [to You]. 38 Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice and the wood and the stones and the dust, and also licked up the water that was in the trench."

Jonah 3:1-10 And the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, 2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach and cry out to it the preaching that I tell you. 3 So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city of three days’ journey [sixty miles in circumference]. 4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, Yet forty days and Nineveh shall be overthrown! 5 So the people of Nineveh believed in God and proclaimed a fast and put on sackcloth [in penitent mourning], from the greatest of them even to the least of them. 6 For word came to the king of Nineveh [of all that had happened to Jonah, and his terrifying message from God], and he arose from his throne and he laid his robe aside, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. 7 And he made proclamation and published through Nineveh, By the decree of the king and his nobles: Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; let them not feed nor drink water. 8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth and let them cry mightily to God. Yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. 9 Who can tell, God may turn and revoke His sentence against us [when we have met His terms], and turn away from His fierce anger so that we perish not. 10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God revoked His [sentence of] evil that He had said that He would do to them and He did not do it [for He was comforted and eased concerning them]

Ester 4:16  Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast for me; and neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. I also and my maids will fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law; and if I perish, I perish."

Numbers 13: 26-33 "They came to Moses and Aaron and to all the Israelite congregation in the Wilderness of Paran at Kadesh, and brought them word, and showed them the land’s fruit.27 They told Moses, We came to the land to which you sent us; surely it flows with milk and honey. This is its fruit.28 But the people who dwell there are strong, and the cities are [a]fortified and very large; moreover, there we saw the sons of Anak [of great stature and courage].29 Amalek dwells in the land of the South (the Negeb); the Hittite, the Jebusite, and the Amorite dwell in the hill country; and the Canaanite dwells by the sea and along by the side of the Jordan [River].30 Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once and possess it; we are well able to conquer it.31 But his fellow scouts said, We are not able to go up against the people [of Canaan], for they are stronger than we are.32 So they brought the Israelites an evil report of the land which they had scouted out, saying, The land through which we went to spy it out is a land that devours its inhabitants. And all the people that we saw in it are men of great stature.33 There we saw the Nephilim [or giants], the sons of Anak, who come from the giants; and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Mark 6: 37-44 "But He replied to them, Give them something to eat yourselves. And they said to Him, Shall we go and buy 200 denarii [about forty dollars] worth of bread and give it to them to eat? 38 And He said to them, How many loaves do you have? Go and see. And when they [had looked and] knew, they said, Five [loaves] and two fish. 39 Then He commanded the people all to recline on the green grass by companies. 40 So they threw themselves down in ranks of hundreds and fifties [with the regularity of an arrangement of beds of herbs, looking like so many garden plots]. 41 And taking the five loaves and two fish, He looked up to heaven and, praising God, gave thanks and broke the loaves and kept on giving them to the disciples to set before the people; and He [also] divided the two fish among [them] all. 42 And they all ate and were satisfied. 43 And they took up twelve [small hand] baskets full of broken pieces [from the loaves] and of the fish. 44 And those who ate the loaves were 5,000 men."

Luke 17:6 (AMP)" And the Lord answered, If you had faith (trust and confidence in God) even [so small] like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, Be pulled up by the roots, and be planted in the sea, and it would obey you."

God had assigned me to pray and fast on an important matter. I had asked some of my "close" sisters in Christ at the local church were attending to intercede and be in agreement with me. However, I found out that those sisters were speaking negative things in regards to the matter I had requested for prayer. They were full of doubt and unbelief to the task that God had me pray about. It is very amazing and shocking to me how people can be so negative and doubtful even after witnessing and experiencing the power and miracles of God.  Although, they spoke as though they were in faith, they were really moving by sight. I had assumed since the task God had assigned me required many people as possible to intercede on my behalf. I prayed and shared my disappointment about the sisters to the Lord.

But as I was in prayer, the Lord reminded me that the quantity of people praying is not as important if God has set His mind on carrying out a matter or plan. Of course, it would have been a plus if the my sisters in Christ still continued to intercede on my behalf. But God reminded me, He only needs the faith of one person to carry out His plan.

If you look at 1 Samuel chapters 49 and 50, David had defeated Goliath with one single shot. It was with one small stone. His faith was not in the stone and his abilities but it was with God. The small stone was all God required to help defeat the enemy. The small stone represented David's faith. A whole armored marching army was not required to defeat this giant. In fact, if they had fought Goliath in the traditional sense, they would have been defeated. God was Glorified through David's faith. God receives Glory through the impossibles.

1 King 18, the stand off was between four hundred of Baal's prophet and one Elijah. One prophet from the Lord was confronting hundreds. Elijah was all alone with no one on his side. But all God required was Elijah to call down the fire with his faith. One man's obedience and faithful act in God had defeated the prophets of Baal.

In Jonah chapter 3, God needed only one man to transform a nation. In Ester chapter 4, it was through the faithful act of one woman that saved the whole nation of Israelites.

In Numbers chapter 13, out of the twelves spies, ten were struck with plagues by God for instilling fear into His people. God did not need all twelve leaders but two to accomplish His Will. Yes, the unbelieving spies were removed by God immediately. God had promised them that they would go and posses the land. But most had looked at the circumstances and the condition of the land. Out of fear and unbelief, many began making excuses after excuses and giving reason why they should not press forward to conquer the land. As they were speaking negative things with doubt and fear, they did not realize they were speaking against God's will and His promise. They did not realize they were telling God even this was too much for Him.

Mark chapter 6, in our natural mind, it just does not make sense how the earth can feed 5000 people with only five loaves and two fish. However, that was more than enough for Jesus to perform His miracle. Our natural mind can never fathom or understand. This is why we are required to walk in faith. If we walk by sight, we will be deceived and defeated. We are the people of faith. We must think supernaturally. Our faith must go beyond the natural realm. Our faith will move mountains and defeat the giants of our lives. God will never be able to use you if you keep questioning HIM instead of moving forward with your faith. You will never be able to please HIM without having faith. You will never see God's plan materialize in your life if you do not move forward with your faith.

Believe what God will do in your life. Do not believe the lies of the enemy. Receive the promises of God and move forward with unshakable faith. Remember, all the amazing stories in the bible consisted of single or a small remnant to carry out His plan. It did not require the faith of a nation but rather He only requires one person to change the world. Your faith is sufficient. Even if there are no one to intercede, even if no one want to come in agreement with you, even if no one wants to believe with you, if God has personally given you the promise, do not worry but push forward. If God has set in His mind to carry out a plan, all He requires from you is your faith. Do not be afraid for He is with you and will listen to your prayers. Cry out and be persistent. He will never reject your prayers.

May you grow strong in the Lord. May your faith be strengthened in HIM for He will never leave you nor forsake you. He loves you very much and He desires to carry out His plan in your life and He desires to answer your prayers according to His Will and purpose more than even you desire to receive it.
