1 John 2:6-8 Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.
7 Dear friends, I am not writing a new commandment for you; rather it is an old one you have had from the very beginning. This old commandment—to love one another—is the same message you heard before. 8 Yet it is also new. Jesus lived the truth of this commandment, and you also are living it. For the darkness is disappearing, and the true light is already shining.

What is the new commandment? The new commandment that Jesus gave us was to love one another. Yet, it is also an old commandment. Why is it old and new?
The old commandment of loving one another represents the knowledge of knowing that we need to love one another. The old commandment represents the saints having the law to know we are to love one another. Today, many Christians still hold on to the Old Commandment. They know they need to love but to do is another matter.
The New Commandment to love one another is now do it in action. HE came to show us. Before Jesus came, God's people knew they had to love one another and they more or less preached and talked about it. Now, Jesus was telling them to live, breath, and walk in it. Love came and love fulfilled the law. HE came and set the example. In verse 6, it states "those who live in God should live their lives as Jesus did."
John 14:12 (AMP) I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.
The New Commandment is that if we steadfastly (continuously) believe in HIM, then we will do what HE did and even greater. We will speak like HIM. We will be gentle as HIM. We will be meek as HIM. We will be able to forgive as HIM. We will be able to endure people like HIM. We will be able to pray and intercede like HIM. We will be able to die like HIM if necessary. We will be able to wash the feet of others like HIM. We will be able to love those who hate, betray, and slander us like HE loved them. We will be able to LOVE like HIM. This is the New Commandment to love one another. It is to love and follow HIM and live our lives as HE did.
Many Christians say they cannot stop sinning. This is a deception of the enemy and of religion. Jesus said if we believe in HIM, we can even do greater. HE knew no sin and if HE lives in us and we in HIM, then as the bible states, we need to come to the fullness of God in us. Then as our conscious and hearts are cleared, we will have no feelings of guilt or condemnation but rather confidence in approaching HIM and thus we can ask anything and know HE will answer us because HE knows we love HIM. HE knows we love HIM as we practice what HE commands. We live our lives as HE did.
How do we come to the fullness of God us? What is the fullness of God?
Ephesians 3:19 (AMP) [That you may really come] to know [practically, [a]through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
Many Christians are full of pride and living lives as they please. Many are dying in their sins and ending up in judgment. Many need to just start from the beginning. They need to start repenting. They need to start praying, reading, and worshiping. They need to seek HIS Face and HIS WILL for their lives. They need to live their lives as HE had.
