Psalm 30:2 O Lord my God, I cried to you for help,
and you restored my health.
Many are sick physically and spiritually but many have not yet cried out for help. There is a promise in HIS Word for restoration of our health. It is a restoration of our spiritual and physical health. But we must cry out to HIM. Most Christians do not pray as God desires. Most of our prayers are but a 10 second over a meal prayer. This type of prayer will not even break through the physical atmosphere into the spiritual.
Jesus showed us how to pray. He did not pray quietly. HE did not pray two minute prayers. HE went up the mountain and prayed ALL night. If we say we are following HIM, should we not follow HIS Ways?
Hebrews 5:7 (NLT) While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence for God.
Many of our families need salvation. Many of us need to be restored spiritually, mentally, and physically. But what are we doing with all the leisure time given to us? Most spend it on TV watching sports, entertainment, and others as they spend their money for themselves rather than making peace and sin offerings to God. And we wonder why we are still stuck and frustrated?
Who will take the lead? God is seeking vessels that will sacrifice themselves. HE is seeking those who will fully and obey and surrender to HIS Will. HE is looking for those who have Jesus in them that will pray as HIS Son did while HE was on earth. HE is looking for those who will offer prayers of pleadings, with loud cries and tears to Father God. HE is seeking those who will pray for hours to move the spiritual realm to have Father's Will be done. HE is seeking those who are disciplined and consistent in their faith. He is not looking for weekend prayers. HE is looking for those who are fully committed to HIM. HE is looking for those whose lives are a prayer.
Many are greedy for the spiritual gifts. Many are greedy for the spiritual experiences. But not many are willing to pay the price to grow steadfastly in HIM to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit to do HIS Will. We seek the outpouring of the Spirit and we know the promise is there. But even for the outpouring requires God's condition to be met.
Joel 2:12-13 (AMP) Therefore also now, says the Lord, turn and keep on coming to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning [until every hindrance is removed and the broken fellowship is restored].13 Rend your hearts and not your garments and return to the Lord, your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness; and He revokes His sentence of evil [when His conditions are met].
We must come with all of our hearts, not half divided hearts loving the things of the world. We must come with fasting, weeping and mourning. Fasting is just not about food but it relates to the flesh. Fast from the love of the world. Fast from TV. Fast from sports. Fast from your entertainment that completes with God on His Worship Day (Sunday). Then you must come with weeping and mourning which is REPENTANCE! Rend your hearts, come with broken and contrite spirit. When such conditions are met, every hindrance will be removed and the broken fellowship will be restored. Do not just assume our fellowship with God is not hindered. Much of what HE does for us is out of HIS grace and for HIS Name sake. If we are not hindered, then why are we not the head? Why are we not the lender? Where is our surplus of prosperity? Why are so many toiling with their hands still rather than be in promise land where milk and honey flows? Why are we not doing the greater works?
If we refuse to repent, then we will continue to waste away and groan all day. We must humble ourselves, fall on our knees and weep and cry between the porch and altar for God's people for mercy. YOUR deliverance will come as you obey HIS Word.
Lamentation 2:18-19 “Cry aloud before the Lord, O walls of beautiful Jerusalem! Let your tears flow like a river day and night. Give yourselves no rest; give your eyes no relief. 19 Rise during the night and cry out. Pour out your hearts like water to the Lord. Lift up your hands to him in prayer, pleading for your children, for in every street they are faint with hunger.”
Psalm 32:3-5 When I refused to confess my sin,
my body wasted away,
and I groaned all day long.
4 Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me.
My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. Interlude
5 Finally, I confessed all my sins to you
and stopped trying to hide my guilt.
I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.”
And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.
