Speaking outside one's authority

Numbers 12:1 "NOW MIRIAM and Aaron talked against Moses [their brother] because of his [a]Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite woman. 2And they said, Has the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? Has He not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it." Miriam was the first mentioned female prophetess. But yet she spoke as though she had authority to speak on this matter.

Whether one is a prophet, prophetess, watchman, or whether one has been a Christian for 20 years or whether one has gone to bible school or have degrees, all of these mentioned do not give any person full authority on any or all matters to speak or teach unless it is given by God. Degrees do not give one authority. It is the Holy Spirit who gives one authority.

Aaron and Miriam ASSUMED that Moses was in error for having married a Cushite woman. After all, doesn't it state somewhere the God's people could not marry outside their people? On the surface, it sounded right to rebuke Moses from Mirian's stand point. But the real question would be, why would they even question it after witnessing God's power and authority through Moses? Their question was really birthed from their hardened hearts.

In verse 2, it is CLASSIC!! We still hear such talk today. "And they said, Has the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? Has He not spoken also by us?"

Just because one hears God or receives visions and dreams does not give one authority to speak or teach on a particular matter or issue. If one does, they may be speaking in their flesh. It can appear on the surface a valid subject or issue to bring up but in God's Kingdom it is about Spiritual Authority and HE IS A MONARCHY! HE IS NOT a democracy!

God TAKES SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY VERY VERY SERIOUSLY. Please do not speak in your flesh usurping God's authority ATTEMPTING TO PUT IN YOUR TWO CENTS. If it is not your place to speak, then please don't. I say this for the benefit of many.

I do not know everything and since I do not know, I must wait until the Lord teaches and gives me the authority to speak on any particular matter. I should not attempt to know something I do not know or teach what I do not know. If I do not know, I will tell people I do not know.

Numbers 12:10-13
(AMP) And when the cloud departed from over the Tent, behold, Miriam was leprous, as white as snow. And Aaron looked at Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous! 11And Aaron said to Moses, Oh, my lord, I plead with you, lay not the sin upon us in which we have done foolishly and in which we have sinned. 12Let her not be as one dead, already half decomposed when he comes out of his mother's womb! 13And Moses cried to the Lord, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech You!

Miriam was punished with leprosy. Therefore brethren, before you speak or teach reacting to something what is your true motive? Are you speaking as lead by the Spirit or reacting in the flesh. Crucify your fleshes!

Ecclesiastes 5:2 (AMP) Be not rash with your mouth, and let not your heart be hasty to utter a word before God. For God is in heaven, and you are on earth; therefore let your words be few.

Proverbs 10:19
(AMP) In a multitude of words transgression is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is prudent.
