Soar as the Eagle

An eagle soars above all birds. It soars on high where no other bird can go. It does not fly in packs nor depend on others to survive. It is a commanding bird. It does not eat dead flesh but fresh prey. It's vision is keen and can stay focus on a prey. They are master fishermen.

The eagle LOVES the storm as the storm helps it lift higher. All other birds hide while the eagle comes to play in the mist of the storm. The eagle must learn to Soar with the wind. If it flaps too much it will lose too much energy and die. When it comes to finding a mate, the female will test the male for its commitment. There is one mate for life. They nest in the wilderness away from the "world." And as the eagle gets old and weak, the eagle will go far and find a secure place. It will then painfully pluck all its feathers to grow new ones.

The Lord desires us to fly like eagles above all birds. We are not to depend on man but the Lord Himself as one would fly solo high in the sky. We do not feed on what is dead but what is Living. We feed on the Living God for He is the Bread of Life and the Living Water. Our faith should be firm and not wavering as the vision of an eagle. When storms of life come, instead of running, we should press into it knowing it will make us stronger. Will will endure the storm and give God Glory or will we run and hide like the other birds? We must soar on the wind (Holy Spirit) otherwise flapping out of our own effort will lead to death. We must be strengthened and changed from our old flesh which requires dying to self. The eagle pucks out its old feathers. We must crucify our flesh and be renewed with our mind.

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

The baby eagle must learn how to fly and hunt by observing its parents. They do not have instincts like other animals. They have what is known as imprinting. They like some other birds must learn by watching or by first imprint. When the parent eagle brings food, the baby eagle will stretch out its wings flapping thus imitating the parents. This is how the baby learns.

But there are times when some baby eagles refuse to leave the nest to fly. The parent eagle must then squeeze or force the baby eagle out to fly. The parents will began to withhold its food. They will give just enough food to survive but the baby eagle will be constantly famished . The hunger is to drive the baby eagle out of the nest and fly. The parent will use the food and the hunger of the baby to lure it out.

We are to mimic Christ. We are to be imprinted by Him. Parents be cautious of what you say or do in front of your children. They learn as they observe you and what is around them whether that be TV or the world. We must guard their minds.

We Christians at many times do not want to leave our comfort zone or safety. God will therefore at times employ various methods to squeeze us out. When we go through such a process, it is painful and at times frightening.

We do have a choice. We can stay and starve or we can go out and feed. But to feed will require us to go into unchartered territory. When the milk is done, we must go and get our own spiritual meat from the Holy Spirit. We can stay in the nest and claim we have faith and say we believe as we watch others fly and soar but unless we step out into faith with our wings, we will not experience the WIND (Holy Spirit) soaring on our own wings. Many can chirp (whatever sounds a eagle makes) and they can talk a good talk at times but the the question is do they have the Holy Spirit lifting them up flying or are they talking from the safety zone of their nest?

This is not an option. We must all grow into spiritual maturity. We must digest the spiritual meat for many will vomit it out. They will vomit it out because they will not want to leave the nest.

Matthew 5:48 You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete MATURITY of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Luke 8:14 And as for what fell among the thorns, these are [the people] who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked and suffocated with the anxieties and cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not ripen (come to MATURITY and perfection).

Ephesians 4:16 For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part [with power adapted to its need] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to FULL MATURITY, building itself up in love.

Hebrews 12:2 Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to MATURITY and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 John 2:5 But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached MATURITY). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him:
