Keep your eyes on the Lord

Many times the "storms" of our lives are too big to go around. We do not like to experience pain or difficulties and thus we are always looking for short cuts. Instead of asking God to get you out, perhaps, it is best to ask Him to help you go through the storm and finish your season. You may have to go through it regardless. Trying to go around it may not be His Will. Ask for His Strength.

If you are going through any storms in your life, you must keep your eyes on Jesus. When Jesus called Peter out from the boat, Peter began to walk on water because he obeyed, kept His faith and his eyes were on the Lord. Once Peter "perceived and felt the strong wind," his focus was off and his faith was attacked by fear. Once your focus is off Jesus, you will start to sink as your faith is no longer on Jesus but your circumstances. Peter and the disciples were not even experiencing a full storm but strong winds. If we cannot even keep our eyes on Jesus when life gets windy, how are we to survive the full force of a storm?

Matthew 14:28-31 (AMP)28 And Peter answered Him, Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.29 He said, Come! So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and he came toward Jesus.30 But when he perceived and felt the strong wind, he was frightened, and as he began to sink, he cried out, Lord, save me [from death]!31 Instantly Jesus reached out His hand and caught and held him, saying to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt?

We can all say and start out with solid faith. But when things get a little rough, a little doubt will sink us. Your faith must continue and finish to the end. Yes, we may all move up and down on the faith meter but the most important matter is that you get up shake the dust off and continue forward regardless. You can either call on to the Lord for help or continue sinking.

As you move from each season, your faith will grow and become stronger as it had once been a small mustard seed that will grow into a giant tree. Faith is not just a thought or an intangible idea but it is proven through our works of obedience completing the task given to us as we are moved from Glory to Glory.
