Bear Fruit

John 15:8 (Amplified Bible) "When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine." Bearing fruit is not considering yourself to be a "good person" based on the standards of society. What or who gives you the authority to define whether you are a "good person" anyway?

Genesis 3:8-11 (Amplified Bible) And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9But the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, Where are you? 10He said, I heard the sound of You [walking] in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11And He said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?

God asked Adam a very important question. He asked, "Who told you that you were naked?" What was God really asking? God was not attempting small talk with Adam. This was a serious question.

Before Adam and Eve ate the fruit, they were walking in His Glory and they enjoy God as they fellowshipped and OBEYED. They did not question God's command's or Word.

"Who told you that you were naked?" Before the fall, Adam and Eve did not even know whether they were naked or not. What was nakedness to them anyway? How would they know what nakedness was about?

God was basically asking them who or what gives them the authority to define whether they are naked or not? Were they God to define good and evil? Were they God to define whether they are naked or not? Who gave them the authority to determine who or what they are? What or who gives you the authority to say you are humbled? Yourself?

Our job is to Obey God. Are you obeying and doing the Father's will or are you just continuing to partake the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil which will only lead to death.

To do His Will is your food. It is the fruit from the Tree of Life. He is the Bread of Life. To do your own will is to partake the fruit of death.

John 4:34 (Amplified Bible) Jesus said to them, My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent Me and to accomplish and completely finish His work.

John 6:48-53 (Amplified Bible) 48I am the Bread of Life [that gives life--the Living Bread]. 49Your forefathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and [yet] they died.
50[But] this is the Bread that comes down from heaven, so that [any]one may eat of it and never die. 51I [Myself] am this Living Bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he will live forever; and also the Bread that I shall give for the life of the world is My flesh (body). 52Then the Jews angrily contended with one another, saying, How is He able to give us His flesh to eat? 53And Jesus said to them, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, you cannot have any life in you unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood [unless you appropriate His life and the saving merit of His blood].
